Donors Impact Alpha Sigma Alpha’s Future

Foundation donors make it possible to provide grant money to support Alpha Sigma Alpha programs and opportunities that meet the Foundation’s mission. This grant money then allows the Sorority to focus member income on other areas of operations, which strengthen membership experiences, retention and growth of the organization. You can give back today to continue making experiences like those listed below possible.

The Impact

In recent years, Foundation grants have supported the following purposes:

Educational Opportunities

for mental health, networking, resiliency and risk management through programs such as Behind Happy Faces, The Academy and national convention & leadership conference

Leadership Development

including conflict management, communications, servant leadership and diversity, equity & inclusion through the Emma Coleman Frost Leadership Development Institute and online keynote speakers.

Philanthropic Tools

by providing the CrowdChange fundraising platform for all collegiate chapters to use in fundraising for the Sorority’s national philanthropic partners, local philanthropic efforts, community causes and more

Individual Giving

Individual members give the majority of funds donated annually to the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation. These donors make gifts through monthly/quarterly gifts with the Infinity Society, various appeals such as convention or the Foundation’s annual giving day- Joyously Give and through giving plans with Champions of the Phoenix.

All individual monetary giving is tax-deductible and provides educational, leadership and philanthropic opportunities in Alpha Sigma Alpha for collegiate and alumnae members.

Chapter Giving

Collegiate and Alumnae Chapters are highly encouraged to support the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation as one of the Sorority’s national philanthropic partners. There are many ways for Alumnae Chapters and Collegiate Chapters to support the Foundation.

Donor Recognition

Donor recognition is an important part of each person's experience with the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation. The Foundation recognizes donor generosity through Lifetime Giving, Loyalty League, Champions of the Phoenix, Chapter Giving, Wilma Wilson Sharp Society and more. Every donor should expect to be thanked for her contribution and can learn more about the impact of giving through the Foundation's website, Sorority social media, individual outreach and general communications such as the Phoenix, email and video email.

Philanthropic Donations

The Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation is one of three national philanthropic partners for Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. Chapters have the opportunity for both hands on service and charitable giving for Special Olympics and Girls on the Run, whether that benefits the international/national organizations or a local chapter/council. Foundation support comes directly from member and chapter charitable giving.

Collegiate Chapter Donation Payments

All chapters should route gifts to Special Olympics and Girls on the Run through the Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation. This includes when donating to a local chapter or council for those organizations. Routing gifts through the Foundation allows Alpha Sigma Alpha to see the vast impact we make across our communities and nationwide. All gifts routed through the Foundation are used as part of the collegiate and alumnae chapter awards evaluation process.

Collegiate Chapter Foundation Giving

Collegiate Chapters hold RISE: Raising money to Inspire, Support and Elevate women fundraisers throughout the year to support the Foundation. Collegiate chapters should route gifts through the Foundation using Billhighway checks and having the chapter treasurer or president complete the Chapter Donation Form on Officer Portal. Chapter service and giving chairmen should work with the treasurer or president to get the form completed and the donation sent within two weeks of a fundraiser’s end.

Alumnae Chapter Donations

Alumnae chapters are encouraged to hold fundraisers and route gifts to/through the Foundation if it benefits one or more of the three national philanthropic partners. Complete the Alumnae Chapter Foundation Contribution Report and mail a chapter check to the Foundation.
