Parents and Caregivers

Welcome parents, caregivers and support systems of Alpha Sigma Alpha women. Whether your loved one has just accepted their bid of membership or is coming to the end of their collegiate career, thank you for being a supporter of their membership. Your Alpha Sigma Alpha member is among more than 88,000 collegiate and alumnae members who believe in our shared values, high ideals and the bonds of lifelong sisterhood.

What Members Can Expect

Academics

Learning and Responsibility are two core values of Alpha Sigma Alpha. Within those values, we support academic excellence for not only our individual members but collegiate chapters.

Each collegiate chapter creates its own scholarship plan to assist and encourage chapter members to achieve their best academically with systems in place to support their studies and to introduce them to their resources on their personal college campus.

Collegiate chapters must have an average of at least a 2.5 GPA for their membership to be in good standing with the national organization.

Service & Giving

Alpha Sigma Alpha encourages it’s members to support our three national philanthropic partners as well as those in their local communities. Alpha Sigma Alpha women express their care and concern for others through the support of the Sorority’s philanthropic endeavors.

Personal & Professional Development

Alpha Sigma Alpha offers member education for new members, initiate members and seniors. New members focus on learning through our eight core values. Initiate members work on personal development through a core value program. Senior members focus on topics that will help the transition our of college and using their purpose to impact the their community.

Member's Privacy

Alpha Sigma Alpha values the involvement of parents, families and support systems of our members. However, our members’ right to privacy is of the utmost importance. Information about, but not limited to, membership status, discipline issues, finances and housing are provided solely to individual members. Members may choose not to share information with their parents or family members, and we respect their choice and privacy.

Health & Safety

Alpha Sigma Alpha expects that all members will follow organizational bylaws, policies & procedures, college/university regulations and local, state and federal laws.

Hazing has no place in Alpha Sigma Alpha. The Sorority is committed to educating members on national policies regarding hazing and to promoting awareness to prevent hazing. The national organization will investigate any report of hazing.

Alpha Sigma Alpha prohibits behaviors that intend to be, or are reasonably foreseeable to be, undignified, threatening, intimidating or harassing to another person or group or within member activities.
